Delivery Policy

Delivery Policy

Effective date: 1 January 2026
Last updated: 6 August 2026

Please read this policy before placing an order, particularly when ordering large furniture or arranging delivery to a flat, estate or restricted-access property.

1. Delivery area

SpaceSave currently delivers only within South Africa.

We do not deliver to P.O. boxes.

Deliveries to shopping centres, mines, hostels, restricted-access premises, remote locations or other unusual destinations must be discussed and approved before purchase.

2. Delivery address

Customers must provide a complete and accurate physical address, suburb and postal code; a valid telephone number and email address; and all information reasonably necessary for access.

SpaceSave is not responsible for delays caused by incorrect, incomplete or inaccessible address information supplied by the customer.

3. Delivery charges

Delivery within South Africa is free for orders of R900 or more.

Orders below R900 attract a delivery contribution of R100.

Additional charges may apply where special handling is required, access is unusually difficult, redelivery is required, the location falls outside normal courier service areas, or a dedicated vehicle or team is required.

Any known additional charge will be discussed before the delivery is booked.

4. Processing, lead time and transit time

Delivery estimates consist of processing or manufacturing time before dispatch and courier transit time after dispatch.

For in-stock standard products, typical courier transit estimates after dispatch are 1–2 working days in the Cape Town area and 3–5 working days in other main South African areas.

Kitchen islands, customised products and products marked as lead-time items may take longer.

The estimated processing or production period will be displayed on the product page or communicated before acceptance.

Working days are Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays.

5. Payment before dispatch

Orders will be dispatched only after full payment has been received and verified, unless another arrangement has been expressly agreed in writing.

EFT orders may be delayed until cleared funds reflect in SpaceSave’s account.

6. Courier booking and tracking

SpaceSave uses reputable courier and logistics providers.

Once a courier booking has been created, the customer will normally receive tracking or booking information by email or SMS.

Tracking information may take time to update after collection.

7. Delivery dates

Delivery dates are estimates and are not guaranteed unless SpaceSave expressly agrees to a fixed date in writing.

We will take reasonable steps to notify customers of material delays.

Where delivery is significantly delayed, the customer retains all rights available under applicable law.

8. Access and large-item deliveries

Customers must check before ordering that the product fits through doors and passages; stairways and lifts are suitable; the delivery vehicle can safely access the property; estate or security requirements have been arranged; and there is sufficient space or assistance where required.

Large kitchen islands and other heavy or oversized products may be delivered only to the front door at ground level unless another arrangement is agreed in advance.

Couriers are not required to lift products over walls or balconies, dismantle doors or windows, carry products through unsafe or unsuitable access routes, use unapproved lifting equipment or carry oversized products up multiple flights of stairs.

Special access must be disclosed before checkout or immediately after ordering.

9. Unsafe delivery areas

Courier providers may decline to enter an area that they reasonably consider unsafe.

Where this occurs, SpaceSave will attempt to arrange delivery to an agreed alternative address, collection from a secure courier depot or meeting point, or another reasonable solution.

10. Missed deliveries

An adult customer or authorised representative must be available to receive the order.

If no one is available after a delivery was arranged, a reasonable redelivery charge may apply.

The customer may contact the courier using the tracking information to request an alternative date, subject to courier availability.

11. Inspection at delivery

Customers should inspect the packaging and visible parts of the product before signing.

Where visible damage is found, note the damage on the delivery document, take photographs, notify the driver and contact SpaceSave promptly.

A signed delivery document does not remove rights relating to hidden defects or damage that could not reasonably have been identified at delivery.

12. Risk and ownership

SpaceSave carries the risk of loss or damage until the order has been delivered to the customer or the customer’s authorised representative.

Ownership remains with SpaceSave until payment has been received in full.

13. Customer collections

Customer collection may be available by prior arrangement and written confirmation from SpaceSave.

Customers should not travel to collect an order until SpaceSave has confirmed that it is ready and provided the collection arrangements.

Risk passes to the customer or authorised representative when the collected order is handed over.

14. Events beyond our control

Delivery may be delayed by circumstances outside our reasonable control, including extreme weather, road closures, civil disturbance, courier disruption, power interruptions or supply shortages.

We will communicate material delays and take reasonable steps to complete delivery.
